2012 Pinot Noir
Carneros Napa Valley
10 Months in French oak
Rich in style, this vintage is ripe and generously flavored pushing to reveal blackberry, wild berry and blueberry. It is intense and long on the palate giving it an assertive, zesty profile that shows some heat and gripping tannins. It ends with a long, lingering finish, revaling anise, vanilla, toast and dried sage nuances.
700 cases produced
2012 was pleasantly warm and led to even ripening. After hand selecting, we used 100% French oak barrels with 33% new oak. Fermentation was carried out using 15% whole cluster fermentation making this vintage amply flavored with an intense and long palate.

I've been looking for a California Pinot with characteristics of old world Pinot Noir. I found it in 2014 and 2012 Hyde Pinot Noir from Carneros. Cherry nose and taste, but not sweet or pie like. Lots of earth and barrel character. Delightful!
