Carneros Napa Valley
September 22nd, 2012
10 Months in French oak
On the nose, ripe apple, pear, and meyer lemon lead into fresh tropical fruit before settling against the warmth of vanilla and nutmeg baking spice. Medium rich and balanced, the palate jumps with bright acidity from the cooler Carneros climate, yet carries the concentrated orchard fruit from old vines that make this wine a distinct Napa Valley Chardonnay.
350 cases produced
This was our first vintage of Chardonnay made from the oldest block of vines in the vineyard. The 2012 growing season was near perfect for us unlike the year before. After hand selecting, the fruit went straight to press, and then the juice was barrel fermented in 100% French oak barrels with native yeast fermention making this vintage lucious and complex.
